The Southern Arizona Shop Hop has come and gone. The winner of one of the grand prizes which was a Bernina 350 was Jeanie Hardwick of St. David, AZ. Congratulations to Jeanie and I hope she has lots of fun with it.
Spring has arrived. Things are starting to turn green. I am going to attempt my first perennial flower garden here in Arizona. The dirt is like concrete. I've started a compost bin in some old horse tubs, the horses destroyed. I bought some plants for High Country Gardens out of Santa Fe. They sell native plants and have developed some plants that I hope will do well in our area.
Mom has come and gone. She had quite a few quilts to quilt while she was here this winter and kept busy up until she left last week.
I'm working on a raffle quilt for the aminal shelter that my brother works for in Michigan. It is the Al-Van Animal Shelter in South Haven, MI. If you want a dog or cat, consider the shelter first. It is a pineapple block made with fabric from Moda's Max and Whiskers collection.
Hopefully it won't be as long until the next post.
